Please join us for a special presentation on the water resources of Latin America and the Caribbean by Mr. Carl Soderberg.   The presentation will include detailed information on water availability, drinking water and sanitation coverage, the extent of treatment of domestic and industrial wastewaters, and the health and ecological aspects of water pollution, as well as projections for future water and sanitation needs in the region. 

Mr. Soderberg is the Director of the USEPA Caribbean Environmental Protection Division.  He is also a Past Presidentof AIDIS and the current President of the Consultative Council of AIDIS.  He has received numerous awards for his accomplishments in the field of environmental protection over a span of thirty years. A licensed professional engineer in the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, he began his career at the Department of Health Water Pollution Control Program and subsequently the Environmental Quality Board, rising to the positions of Director of Water Quality and Vice-Chair of the Board.  Prior to assuming his current position at USEPA, he was Director of the Industrial Pretreatment Program for the Puerto Rico Aqueduct and Sewer Authority, a program that he established and implemented.  Mr. Soderberg received his bachelor's degree in engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology.
