USAIDIS invites you to join us for a special meeting at the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) with Dr. Sofialeticia Morales, Senior Adviser for the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs).   Dr. Morales will present an overview

 of PAHO's action plan to accelerate the MDGs in the Western Hemisphere from a

health perspective, focusing on poor peoples rather than poor countries and implementing critical interventions in the most vulnerable municipalities.

 

PAHO is an international public health agency that has been working to improve health and living standards in the countries of the Americas for over 100 years. 

PAHO is the Regional Office of the United Nations'  World Health Organization for the Americas.  Headquartered in Washington DC, PAHO has 27 offices and

nine scientific centers working on priority health issues in the countries of Latin

America and the Caribbean.

 

Prior to joining PAHO, Dr. Morales was Director of Social Development and Education at the Organization of American States, and previously the Director of

the Office of International Affairs, Secretary of Education, Mexico.  Her PhD is in International Education from Harvard University.
