You are
cordially invited to a joint meeting of AIDIS-USA and AWWA to
discuss AWWA's international outreach programs. Our guest-speaker
is Mr. R. Lee Roberts, Incoming Chair of the AWWA International Council, as
well as the Technology Subcommittee Chair of Water For People, a
charity established by AWWA leadership to help impoverished people
around the world obtain access to safe drinking water and sanitation. Mr. Roberts
will be discussing the International Council's vision for the
future, recent changes undertaken by the Council, and changes
currently being considered. Mr. Roberts is President and CEO of the
Roberts Filter Group, the world's largest, oldest private water
treatment company under continuous management. As the fourth
generation to head the Roberts' firm, Mr. Roberts is a successful
inventor, holding over two dozen patents on innovative products for
the water and wastewater industry. He is the author of numerous
articles and publications on filtration, iron & manganese removal,
and high-rate filtration.
In addition to serving on many AWWA committees, Mr. Roberts is
actively involved in the Water Environment Federation (WEF), the
Australian Water Association (AWA), and the International Water
Association (IWA). He has traveled extensively in Central and
South America, serves on the Board of the Pan American Association,
and has served as Director of the Latino Scholarship Fund. His
volunteer work extends to numerous community boards and civic
associations, and he is a recipient of the Youth Mentor of the Year
Award from the Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce. Mr. Roberts is a
graduate of Ursinus College and has taken graduate work at the
Wharton School, George Washington University, and Penn State in
business, law, and engineering.

Parking: Validated parking is available on the basement
level of the building at $5 for three hours maximum.
