We are honored
to announce as our guest speaker Professor Robert Glennon, a
nationally recognized expert in water law and the author of a new
and critically acclaimed book, "Water Follies: Groundwater Pumping
and the Fate of America's Fresh Waters." Dr. Glennon will
present highlights from his new book and discuss the ongoing
dispute between Mexico and the US over the use of Colorado River
water.
Dr. Glennon is
the Morris K. Udall Professor of Law and Public Policy at the
University of Arizona, where he has taught since 1985. He has
published numerous articles on both the environment and law, and
he is an oft-quoted source about water resources and policy. With
a law degree from Boston College and a doctorate in American
history from Brandeis University, he teaches constitutional law
and American legal history in addition to water law. Dr. Glennon
previously taught at the University of Minnesota, the University
of Illinois, Wayne State University, and in Puerto Rico and
Japan. He is a member of the bars of Arizona, Massachusetts and
Michigan.
