The US Inter-American Association of Sanitary Engineering and Environmental Science, USAIDIS, requests abstracts for the VII Regional Conference. USAIDIS is a chapter of AIDIS Inter-American. AIDIS, founded in 1948, has more than 30 thousand members throughout the western hemisphere. It comprises four regions, and includes chapters from 23 countries and the Caribbean Water and Wastewater Association Countries. Chapters in Regions 1 are directly participating in the organization of this conference. These are all the Caribbean country chapters, and the Canadian, Mexican, Puerto Rican, and the United States of America chapters. Well known speakers from North America, the Caribbean, and Latin America will be in Chicago.
The technical papers will be published in the conference proceedings on CD-ROM. Presentations will be for the conference sessions or poster sessions. USAIDIS is requesting abstracts on any topic on water supply, wastewater, solid waste management, and environmental health for small and medium size systems. These topics should reflect the conference theme “Emerging Technologies For Sustainable Environmental Quality.” Consideration will be given to new technologies, new systems, and new applications, particularly for decentralized systems. This conference is a unique event that will provide the opportunity to meet with utility senior managers, decision makers, consultants, technical experts, contractors, manufacturers, and suppliers from North America, the Caribbean, and Latin America. Suggested topics: Among others, the following are some of the suggested topics: decentralized water and wastewater systems, solid waste management, managing potable water resources, detection and correction of water losses, watershed and water resources best management practices, water and wastewater rates, practices for sustainable services, emerging novel technologies for small and medium size systems, demonstration projects, case studies, how to do business in the Caribbean and Latin America.

La Asociación Interamericana de Ingeniería Sanitaria y Ciencias Ambientales de los Estados Unidos de América, USAIDIS solicita la presentación de resúmenes de trabajos técnicos para el VII Congreso Regional. USAIDIS es un capítulo de AIDIS Interamericana. AIDIS, fundada en 1948, tiene unos 30 mil miembros a través del hemisferio occidental. La Asociación comprende cuatro regiones e incluye capítulos de 23 países y la Asociación de Agua y Alcantarillado de los países del Caribe. Los capítulos de la Región 1 están participando directamente en la organización de este Congreso. Estos son todos los capítulos de los países del Caribe, y los capítulos Canadiense, Estado Unidense de Norteamérica, Mexicano y Puerto Riqueño. Conferencistas reconocidos de Norte América, Latino América y el Caribe estarán presentes en este Congreso.
Los trabajos técnicos serán publicados en los anales/memorias del Congreso en CD-ROM. Las presentaciones serán para las sesiones del Congreso o trabajos en cartel. USAIDIS solicita los resúmenes de trabajos técnicos sobre cualquier tópico relacionado con sistemas medianos y pequeños de agua potable, alcantarillado/saneamiento, manejo de residuos sólidos y salud ambiental. Estos tópicos deberán reflejar el tema del Congreso que es “Tecnologías Emergentes para una Calidad Ambiental Sostenible. “ Se dará consideración a nuevas tecnologías, nuevos sistemas y nuevas aplicaciones, particularmente en sistemas descentralizados. Este Congreso es un evento único que proveerá la oportunidad de reunirse con gerentes de alto nivel, funcionarios a cargo de las decisiones, consultores, expertos técnicos, contratistas, fabricantes y proveedores de equipos y materiales de Norte América, el Caribe y Latino América.
Tópicos que se sugieren: Entre otros, se sugieren los siguientes tópicos: sistemas descentralizados de agua potable y saneamiento, manejo de residuos sólidos, manejo de recursos de agua potable, detección y corrección de pérdidas de agua potable, las mejores prácticas del manejo de cuencas hidrográficas y recursos de agua, tarifas de agua y saneamiento, practicas para garantizar la sostenibilidad de los servicios, nuevas tecnologías emergentes para pequeños y medianos sistemas , proyectos demostrativos, estudios de casos, cómo realizar negocios en el Caribe y Latino América.
