USAIDIS (AIDIS-USA)  is one of 24 chapters that represent AIDIS-Interamericana in 32 countries. AIDIS-Interamericana's objective is the  development and enhancement of Sanitary Engineering and Environmental Science activities for the improvement of the environment, public health and the quality of life of the inhabitants of the Americas.  

Mission Statement

The mission of USAIDIS is to further the goals of AIDIS Interamericana through programs and services that promote sound environmental practices, policies, management, and education to improve the quality of life throughout the Americas. In carrying out this mission, USAIDIS will:

bullet

facilitate communication and establish links among organizations and individuals

bullet

promote the technical and professional development of AIDIS members

bullet

support the reciprocal exchange of appropriate technologies and practices, and

bullet

uphold the highest standards of professionalism

Guest speaker Lee Roberts discussed AWWA's International Outreach.  The speaker was the International Council Chair for the AWWA, as well as the Technology Committee Chair for Water for People, and President and CEO of the Roberts Filter Group.

Guest speaker Carl-Axel Soderberg presented an Environmental Profile of the Caribbean.  The speaker is past President of AIDIS-Interamericana, and Chief of the USEPA Caribbean Division, based in Puerto Rico.

Guest speaker Marcos Helano Fernandes Montenegro provided an overview of water sector themes and programs of the Brazilian Ministry of CitiesThe speaker is the Director of the Department of Development and Technical Cooperation; in the National Secretariat for Environmental Sanitation, of the Brazilian Ministry of Cities.
